Day Thirty-nine

Surgery today, so I wasn't allowed to eat anything all day. Tonight I had a little bit of baby food sweet potatoes and some Naked juice -- something with blueberries in it. I also had a couple bites of jello, though not much because it had sugar or artificial sweetener (couldn't tell which as my taste buds were a bit off).

Surgery took longer than expected because of the inflammation and scarring, but they were able to do it laparoscopically, so that's good. The doctor said the gall bladder was full of stones and had been inflamed for a long time. I also saw in my chart that I have a fatty liver. After doing some research on fatty liver, I'm really understanding now why this diet is helping me so much. It's exactly what I should be doing to clear this up. I also read that itching is a symptom, so maybe by removing the inflamed gall bladder and healing my liver I can also heal my histamine intolerance. Cautiously optimistic that I might finally be on the right road.

Going home tomorrow.
