I had a blueberry smoothie with basil leaves for breakfast and leftover steak and sauteed zucchini for lunch.
Someone tried to be really nice to me today and brought me a box of chocolate truffles. I thanked them kindly and then set the box on my desk (they're individually wrapped) and encouraged everyone who walked in to take some. There are still a lot of them left and they're very tempting. I love truffles.
Then this evening, Mike really wanted to go out. He got a small promotion today at work and wanted to celebrate. We went to a place called Early Toast. Their specialty is breakfast -- I hope they do better with breakfast than they do with dinner. There was us and one other couple in the place. I told the waitress that, if the salad dressing had no soybean oil in it, then I would do the salad. Otherwise I wanted the street tacos lettuce wrapped instead of tortillas. Mike got a reuben sandwich.
It took more than 20 minutes to get our food. She brought my salad with tomatoes all over it. So she took it back and brought another one. Then I asked about the salad dressing being safe, just to be sure. She hadn't checked. So she went back t check and said it was not safe. I pointed out that without the dressing, I had told her I would rather have the street tacos. The problem was I had already waited 20 minutes and didn't want to wait any more. So I asked her for some olive oil, chopped cilantro, and sea salt. Once I had resigned myself to that, it was actually preppy good.
